Every great story deserves a sequel, and the acclaimed Leica Q is no exception. Introducing the new Leica Q2 – a perfect symbiosis of the essentials with innovation, pristine performance with connectivity, and resilience balanced with elegance. With its newly developed, 47.3 megapixel full frame sensor, extremely fast Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH. prime lens, fast autofocus, innovative OLED technology, and timelessly elegant design, the Leica Q2 elevates the tradition established by its predecessor, the Leica Q.

With the addition of its special weather sealing to protect the camera from dust and water spray, the Leica Q2 stands out as the only camera in its class that can stand up to even the most unfavorable weather conditions. From its classic design and respected “Made in Germany” quality seal to its integrated digital zoom that covers a range of focal lengths up to 75 mm, the Leica Q2 transcends the revered story of Leica’s full-frame compact story to new heights.

The Leica Q-P is tailored to fulfill the most stringent aesthetic and technical expectations. It favors a classic Leica script engraving on the top plate over the usual front-facing Leica red dot logo for a more discreet look, stealthy matte-black paint finish that looks and feels like nothing else, and a redesigned shutter release button for a more positive tactile feedback. The new Leica Q-P also comes complete with a new carrying strap in the finest brown leather, and an additional battery.

It carries the same superior image quality and technical excellence of the standard Leica Q in silver and black finishes, but further refines this amazing formula.

The Leica Q (Typ 116) is a compact and portable Digital Camera with a full-frame 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and Leica Maestro II series image processor, with Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens. Create high-resolution, low-noise images at sensitivities up to ISO 50,000 and at a continuous rate of 10 fps, while a maximum aperture of f/1.7 allows for selective focus and aids working in difficult lighting conditions.

With a solid machined aluminum top plate and lightweight magnesium alloy body, it is designed to suit Leica's simple and classic aesthetic. A large thumb rest on the back and a diamond pattern on the front leathering ensure a firm, comfortable grip over the camera. A built-in 3.68-megapixel LCOS electronic viewfinder provides a live through-the-lens image with handling similar to that of a rangefinder. Alternatively, use the rear 3.0" 1,040k-dot touchscreen LCD monitor to compose and select focus. Focusing aids are also available in the form of Focus Peaking and Live View Zoom. In addition to fully manual control with physical operation using the aperture and focus rings on the lens, autofocus is possible using a contrast-based system.

Capture Full HD 1080p video at 60 or 30 fps. A built-in stereo microphone enables high-quality sound recording with an integrated wind filter. When you are done shooting, share your photos and videos instantly with the integrated Wi-Fi module which allows you to link the camera to your smartphone, tablet or computer. The Q also has an NFC chip for tap-to-connect functionality with certain devices, and the free Leica Q app lets you take remote control of your camera for adjusting exposure while you shoot from odd angles and positions.
